Eagleton Community,
We all love our Eagleton community and we all take part in that community. Since we are all part of this community, each week in the Eagle’s Nest Newsletter, I will celebrate or acknowledge an Eagleton Family Member or Community Member. We will do this by giving an affirmation. An affirmation is like a “shout-out” or a positive recognition.
In Ms. Muro’s class, we would like to give an affirmation to the family of Makayla Meadows. Makayla and her family have demonstrated our Eagleton Character Strengths since our initial interaction, but the one that specifically stood out is Optimism. Our first exchange of words was, “We’re so happy to be back, this is going to be a great year!” I think we all share that sentiment, Thank you!
Denver Health and Student-Based Clinics
Denver Health’s School-based Health Centers (SBHC) form an extensive network of 19 health centers located inside Denver Public School (DPS) campuses that provide medical, mental health, dental, and behavioral health care to any DPS student as well as children enrolled in DPS-affiliated Early Childhood Education programs at no charge to families. We also offer health education and family planning, as well as insurance enrollment and advising services.
In addition, Eagleton is now part of the School-Based virtual program. This exciting program allows DPS nurses to virtually connect students to School-based Health Center (SBHC) services right from their school! Your student can receive medication, as needed, for many health concerns, such as headaches, cramps, etc., and go back to class. Parents or guardians can be included in the visit virtually as well. For your student to participate, there is a required consent form which can be found online or at the school.
Parents or guardians must sign consent forms before a student may use most of Denver Health’s services. Once this is complete, students may use the health center at any time during the school year. Consents are suitable for one school year.
